Simulator Aids HS "Save A Life" Campaign

The start of May means prom and graduation season for high schoolers, traditionally one of the busiest and deadliest times for student drivers.

Evansville police are introducing a new campaign to try and cut down on drunk-driving fatalities among teens. The "Save a Life" tour features a new driving simulator that gives students the firsthand experience of impaired driving, without the risks.

EPD Detective Jeff Worthington says, "We're looking for anything different, to try and get their attention. Of all the kids that go through this, if we can save one of them, it'll be worth it."

The simulator program will be making the rounds in Evansville schools over the next several weeks.
