Central's Preston Mattingly signed to play baseball at Tennessee.
Like his famous father Don, Preston is a three sport star leading the Bears on the football field and basketball court but it appears his future appears to shine most brightly on the diamond.
So, on Tuesday with loved ones looking on, Preston put pen to paper signing a national letter of intent to play baseball at Tennessee and he did it voluntarily.
Preston says, "They are a great program obviously so I knew it didn't matter where I signed with it's an SEC school, you know you are getting a good school. I like to get this off my back so I can go out relax and play baseball."
Central Baseball Coach Jason Engelbrecht says, "Preston seems to, when the lights are on, he seems to play his best and I think he's going to rise to that challenge and be an impact right away."
