Will Boxer's Death Affect Regulations?

We could find out soon how the death of an Evansville boxer will affect regulations of the sport.

The Indiana Boxing Commission is scheduled to meet Wednesday, to discuss physical testing requirements for boxers.

Commissioners reviewed the tape of boxer Kevin Payne's final bout last month.

After injuries sustained in the March 18th fight at the Centre, Payne had surgery to relieve pressure on his brain. Doctors say Payne died after the surgery.

Questions have been raised as to whether he was fit enough to even go into the ring.

Boxing Commission Director Deborah Widemon says changes in the physical testing requirements are expected.
