The University of Florida may not want to be known as just a football school anymore. The Gators won their first NCAA men's basketball title by dominating UCLA, 73-to-57.

The Gators made it look easy while beating the school with the most NCAA basketball titles in history.

Florida's defense frustrated UCLA and prevented the Bruins from winning their 12th title in school history.

Joakim Noah led the Gators with 16 points and six rebounds. The Gators committed a season-low six turnovers on offense, while hounding the Bruins in leading all the way.

The win makes 40-year-old Florida coach Billy Donovan the second-youngest coach to win an NCAA basketball title, behind Bobby Knight, who won a championship at 35.

The Gators started the season winning their first 17 games. They finished it by winning their last eleven in a row.

Jordan Farmar led the Bruins with 18.
