UPDATE, WED, 8:30 AM: An Evansville teen is dead, her mother seriously injured, in an accident near Lafayette, Indiana.
Indiana State Police say Claudia Beck was attempting to pass a vehicle on Interstate 65, but didn't see an oncoming vehicle in time.
She overcorrected and went off the road. Her SUV flipped-over several times.
Her daughter, 17-year-old Katelyn, was thrown from the vehicle. She died at the scene.
Katelyn Beck was a student at Harrison High School.

Indiana State Police say 54-year-old Claudia Beck of Evansville was attempting to pass a vehicle in front of her, but didn't see a car in the left lane. She overcorrected and went off the road, flipping her SUV four times.
Her daughter, 17-year-old Katelyn Beck, wasn't wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle. She died at the scene.
Claudia Beck was taken to the hospital with serious head and neck injuries.
No one else was injured. The highway was shut down for more than two hours.
