IL Buildings Damaged By Storms November 16, 2005 at 12:15 PM CST - Updated July 3 at 12:28 AM New Media Producer: Kerry Corum Storms that blew through Massac County in southern Illinois damaged two buildings in Metropolis Tuesday. Part of a roof and side of a Verizon building fell off during the storms, but no one was injured. An awning also fell off the back of a church. Meanwhile in Jasper County, several homes were damaged. The storms also caused downed power lines and tree limbs, but again, no injuries were reported. The National Weather Service also says funnel clouds were reported Tuesday in southern Illinois, where heavy rains also caused flood waters that swept across roads. A spokesman for the Saline County Sheriff's Office also says at least one funnel cloud was reported in Saline County near Harco and another was reported in neighboring Gallatin County.
