Only Minor Storm Damage In Illinois

Illinois was spared the worst of the storm system that spawned a killer tornado in Indiana and Kentucky early Sunday morning, but high winds did do some damage in east-central Illinois.

The storms knocked out power late Saturday night in the McLean County town of Colfax and damaged Olympia High School in Stanford, where part of the roof was blown off.

A spokesman for AmerenIP said the storm knocked out electrical power for nearly 500 Colfax customers about 10:00 p.m. Saturday when 12 transmission poles fell. Service was restored by Sunday evening.
