Diverse, strong and skilled workforce. Evansville’s business community is very stable with major employers including Toyota, Whirlpool, Alcoa, Bristol Myers, PPG, GE Plastics and American General Finance, along with the area hospitals and school corporations.

EDUCATION

Evansville and Vanderburgh County have 30 elementary schools, 11 middle schools and five high schools, along with many private and parochial schools. The University of Evansville is recognized as one the Midwest's “best buy” in education, while the University of Southern Indiana is Indiana’s fastest growing university with enrollment approaching 10,000. Kentucky Wesleyan, ITT Technical Institute, Indiana Business College, Ivy Tech and Oakland City University are other area institutes of higher education.
