Each day during the 4 p.m. newscast, Anchor Randy Moore will bring you the latest information on the most important issues that could put your family's safety in jeopardy.

TRI-STATE (WFIE) - Let's talk about the safety of our kids in the neighborhood, safety from suicide.

Starting this year, all Indiana teachers in grades 5-12 are required to to participate in at least two-hours of youth suicide awareness and prevention training every three-years.

When you read this statistic, you will know why.

1 in 5 Indiana High School students seriously considered attempting suicide in the past year. That's higher than the national percentage and higher than any of our neighboring states.

We all have to be very sensitive to the mental health of our young people.

In Henderson County, Sheriff's deputies are investigating after they say someone fired shots into a home.

It happened in the eastern part of the county early Monday. Sheriff's deputies aren't releasing many details, but say no one was hurt.

If you know anything about this, call the Henderson County Sheriff's Department.
