SPENCER CO., IN (WFIE) - An investigation is underway concerning the Spencer County Animal Shelter.
Accusations by former employees claim cats have been put in the freezer as a form of euthanasia.
14 News has been digging into this story since last week, but we had not been able to reach all sides involved.
Shelter officials say "no comment."
Law enforcement officials now confirm the Sheriff's Office is the lead investigator on the case, which they have turned over to the prosecutor's office.
We are told it's not clear if charges will be filed.
The Spencer County Animal Shelter's Facebook page is no longer active.
