Local doctors say not to worry about national EpiPen shortage

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - A national EpiPen shortage continues, and some parents tell us they're running into the problem at local pharmacies too.

The Food and Drug Administration announced the shortage in May. Doctors at the Deaconess Allergy Clinic tell us if your prescription is about to expire, don't worry.

It could still be safe to use.

A recent study from the California Poison Control System, found it could still be good up to 50 months from the manufacturing date, if stored appropriately.
