Name of victim in deadly Warrick Co. crash released

WARRICK CO., IN (WFIE) -

The name of the person killed in a crash in Warrick County has been released.

According to the coroner, the victim has been identified as 49-year-old Lisa Gibson, of Evansville.

The crash happened early Thursday morning around 2:30 on State Road 66 near Darlington road and Alcoa.

The sheriff's office says Gibson's car left SR 66 at a high rate of speed, hit a light pole with a concrete base and ended upside down. Deputies say no skid marks or efforts to brake were found.

Gibson was pronounced dead at the scene. Deputies tell us she was not wearing a seatbelt.

According to the coroner's office, the cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries. Alcohol is being investigated as a contributing factor.

The crash is under investigation.
