EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

Attorneys Ryan and David Hatfield of Hatfield Law Office held a press conference with their client, Cara Beckerle.

Ryan Hatfield says they filed a Wrongful Death of a Child claim brought by Cara Beckerle, after the death of her daughter, Aleah.

The suit is against Terrence Roach and the property manager of the house where Aleah's body was found on S. Bedford Ave.

Terrence Roach was found not guilty of Aleah's murder in late May, but guilty on one count of criminal confinement resulting in serious bodily injury and one count of abuse of a corpse.

He was sentenced to 17 years.

Attorneys say they believe the investigation was sufficient to find Roach responsible in Aleah's death.
