TRI-STATE (WFIE) -

A suspect is in custody after a wild high-speed chase across the Tri-State Wednesday morning.

Authorities say the driver is 26-year-old Blake Ramsey of Evansville

According to an officer involved in the pursuit, the chase started around 5 a.m. with Evansville police chasing a stolen vehicle at Columbia and 41.

Vanderburgh Co. dispatch says the stolen vehicle was a black 2008 Chevrolet pickup truck.

EPD chased the vehicle down 41 into Hendeson County where Henderson authorities took over. The chase then continued on the Audubon Pwky into Daviess County and Daviess Co. deputies joined the pursuit to help out.

The chase went around Owensboro on the bypass and continued north on 231, across the Natcher Bridge back into Indiana.

We're told the pursuit was terminated shortly after 6 a.m. in the area of 231 and CR 1000 N in Spencer County and authorities began looking for the stolen vehicle.

Around 7:15 a.m. authorities say the stolen truck was spotted at a gas station in Chrisney. When officers arrived, they say Ramsey quickly got inside the truck, backed into another car, then took off again.

Eventually, authorities say Ramsey lost control then landed in a corn field. They say he got out of the truck and tried to runaway.

He was taken into custody at the intersection of CR 700 N. and CR 525 W.

Jail officials tell us they don't have a mug shot of Ramsey because he won't cooperate with the booking process.
