2nd child dies after fire destroys Ohio Co. home

Flames flare up again at Ohio Co. fire

OHIO CO., KY (WFIE) - Crews in Ohio County were called to the scene of a fire early Friday morning.

It broke out around 1 a.m. at 3850 Kentucky 54 in Reynolds Station.

According to the Sheriff, one child, who was identified by the Ohio County Coroner as 2-year-old Ivy Henry, died in the fire. Another child, John-Ross Henry, 4-years-old, died on Monday.

The Sheriff says John-Ross and his 7-year-old sister, were flown to Nashville with burns, and the parents, John Henry, and Christin Henry were taken by ambulance to the hospital. We are told by family friends that Christin was taken to Louisville for treatment and John was released from Owensboro Hospital and transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center.

According to the family's pastor, Christin is now stable and officials are looking to move her to the Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville to be with the rest of her family.

First responders say that days like this are hard for everyone involved.

"You know we, we as policemen and firemen and emergency workers, EMS, we put on strong faces but when something like this hits our community, it hits home and breaks our heart," explained Ohio County Sheriff Tracy Beatty.

Fire crews were called back out around noon when the fire rekindled.
