EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

An Evansville man is accused of attempted murder, and it's not the first time.

Tuesday night, we had a crew in the 600 block of Sweetser Avenue where police say they arrested 20-year-old Donye Morris.

Our cameras captured the arrest of another man who does not appear to be Morris. We are still working to find out more about that.

We do know Morris is in jail charged with robbery and attempted murder with a firearm. Police tell us it's from an incident two nights ago.

They say the victim was walking in the 300 block of Ridgeway Ave. when he was approached by Morris. They say he pulled out a gun, shot the victim in the arm and abdomen, and stole $250 dollars.

Police say Morris fired several more shots as the victim yelled for help.

Court records show Morris was charged with attempted murder once before in 2016. He was found not guilty in the case last summer.
