This is for everyone who watched the horrendous devastion of Katriana last week, and the equally horrendous rescue and recovery effort in the days following.
Surely, I'm not the only one who kept thinking as the drama unfolded at the New Orleans Convention Center, that this should not be happening. Does anyone honestly believe that the might of the U.S. military was not equal to the task of helping the victims stranded there. If nothing else, why wasn't the U.S. Marine Corps tasked to stage an assault of humantarian aid to those people?
They could have, and they should have. And I know enough about Marines to realize that it's because they're weren't asked to do it.
