CAUGHT IN THE ACT: Deputies looking for bold car thieves

MOBILE COUNTY, AL (WALA) -

FOX10 News is committed to putting the spotlight on people “Caught in the Act”. Each week, we work with local law enforcement to show surveillance video in the hopes that you can help crack the case.

The Mobile County Sheriff's Office is looking for two men seen walking into the Highway 98 Service Center in West Mobile. Deputies say the men hotwired and stole a car from the lot. They say the same men returned the next night in that same car to try and steal another one. However, the second attempt failed.

A few days later, a deputy saw the car run a red light. It had a different license plate and was spray-painted black.

"There was a small pursuit with the deputy,” said Lori Myles with the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office. “He tried to pull them over, and two white males fled from the vehicle. That's how we know for sure there are two white males that we are looking for."

Deputies were able to return the car, but still need your help identifying the two men seen in the video.

If you have any videos or photos of people “Caught in the Act”, we want to see them. Send an email to fox10reportit@fox10tv.com or click here, and we may show them in our newscast. Please send a case number with your email. We must be able to confirm a police report was filed.
