3 Things Holding Up Thoroughbred Plant

Representatives of Peabody Coal Company say construction won't begin on the Muhlenberg County-based Thoroughbred power plant until three things happen: The permitting process must be completed, a majority of the electricity output has to be sold and partners must commit.

Local officials and state representatives are pushing for movement on Thoroughbred, counting on the 450 permanent jobs and $100 million in economic benefits promised.
