Some roadways improving as crews work to clear ice, snow

VANDERBURGH CO., IN (WFIE) -

Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) began Saturday with 30 "difficult driving conditions" reported on 14 separate roadways around the Vanderburgh County area. With the help from the sunshine and slow rising temperatures, crews improved the conditions for a number of roads in just a few hours.

At 9:30 a.m. Saturday, numerous state roads as well I-69 had conditions that might have impact travel.  Reports of two hazardous conditions came from I-64, while three other reports surfaced from I-69.

Roads with reports of difficult driving conditions:

  • US-41: Between one mile south of Evansville and one mile south of Princeton
    • Condition updated to fair
  • IN-57: Six to 14 miles south of Mackey
    • Condition updated to fair
  • IN-62: Between six miles west of Mount Vernon and Evansville; Between Evansville and Boonville
    • Conditions of both roads has been update to fair
  • IN-65: Between 13 miles south of Cynthiana and Owensville
    • Condition updated to fair
  • IN-66: Between 21 miles west of Evansville and Evansville; 11 miles east of Evansville
    • Conditions of both roads has been update to fair
  • I-69: 20 miles north of Evansville
    • Condition updated to fair
  • IN-261: Between IN-66 and IN-62
    • Condition updated to fair
  • IN-662: Between two miles west of Newburgh and Newburgh
    • Condition updated to fair
