ISP kept busy overnight by motorists braving hazardous roads

VANDERBURGH CO., IN (WFIE) - Snowy and icy road conditions made traveling difficult for motorists and kept Indiana State Police (ISP) busy through the night Friday and into early Saturday.

ISP Sgt. Todd Ringle said in a Tweet early Saturday, troopers responded to a total of 21 slide offs during the night. Additionally, troopers responded to two property damage accidents, two personal injury crashes, and assisted seven motorists.

Across the state, Sgt. Ringle said a total of 302 slide offs were reported by ISP.

As of 8 a.m. Saturday, INDOT reports many roadways in the area remain in hazardous conditions.

We will continue to update this story throughout the day as road conditions change.
