Motorcycle driver hurt during police chase

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

The driver of a motorcycle was hurt in a crash while police say he was trying to get away from him. 

The chase started near Kentucky Avenue just after 1:30 a.m. Friday.

Police were trying to pull over the driver, but they say he took off instead.

Officers chased him to Waggnor and Gilbert, where the driver lost control and laid the motorcycle down on the road.

He was taken to the hospital for be checked out. 

Police say he will be facing charges.
