Gov. Holcomb stopped by Evansville for AIM Organization event

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb made a stop in Evansville on Thursday as part of the Accelerate Indiana Municipalities Organization.  

It's the first time Evansville has hosted the event since 2007. The organization has been around since the 1890's. Their goal is to help Hoosier towns and cities grow.

Gov. Holcomb talked with Mayor Lloyd Winnecke about fighting the drug epidemic in the state to building the workforce. He also elaborated on the $50-million commitment to Indiana University and the state to try and fight the opioid crisis. 

The event closed out with discussing plans for next year's event.
