EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

Good news for drivers in downtown Evansville. Work is almost finished on the roads near the new IU School of Medicine and Children's Museum.

Crews started laying the bricks on Thursday along 5th Street right in front of the entrance to CMOE.

They hope to be finished and reopen traffic by October 27.

The museum's executive director told us the construction has hurt business, but she's hopeful attendance will be up again in the future.

Next week, the museum is opening a new gallery teaching kids about government around the world.
