Trial for suspect in 2014 murder case begins Monday

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

The trial for the suspect accused of killing an Evansville man will begin Monday.

Deshay Hackner, 22, is charged with the murder of Willie Williams.

Hackner was named as a person of interest in 2015 for the Thanksgiving 2014 death of  Williams. Williams was shot to death in an alley off Powell between Governor and Elliot.

Hackner has pleaded not guilty.

If convicted of murder, Hackner could see 45-65 years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.
