Suspect fired several 'erratic' shots into the air after home invasion robbery

Evansville police are looking for a man they say pistol-whipped and robbed a man inside his home.

It happened just before 10 Wednesday night near 11th and Delaware Street.

We're told the 911 call came in as a home burglary in progress.

When officers arrived at the scene the victim told them a man entered the house through the back door and had a gun. From there, the victim says he was pistol whipped, which caused several cuts on his head.

According to EPD, the robber kept the victim at gunpoint for at least 5 minutes while he searched the room.

Police say the robber then left and fired several erratic shots into the air as he was running away. At last check, he's still on the loose.

The victim had some nasty cuts on his head, but police say he will be ok. It's not yet clear if anything was taken from the home.

If you know anything, you're asked to call Evansville police.
