EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

The man found guilty of shooting into an Evansville home back in March has been sentenced.

The Vanderburgh County Circuit Court sentenced 29-year-old Kory Johnson to nine years in prison, which is the maximum possible sentence for his convictions.

In July, Johnson was found guilty of Carrying a handgun without a license, criminal recklessness, and attempted residential entry.

The Vanderburgh County Prosecutor's Office said Johnson fired a gun into a home while a woman and her four children were inside.

Johnson then shot a doorknob off while the family hid inside a closet.
