EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

An Evansville man is facing burglary and robbery charges after police say he beat up his own uncle.

Officers were called to a home on E. Oregon Street late Monday night.

They say a pizza delivery driver was making a delivery to a regular customer.

He says he knocked on the door and thought the customer didn't hear him.

When he pushed open the door, he says three men ran out. One of them was carrying a TV.

The driver found the victim badly beaten and called 911.

Police say the victim told them he tried to chase the suspects, and one of them must have dropped their phone.

While they were looking at the phone, police say Brandon Hart showed up at the house . They say he told them it was his grandmother's house, and he was checking on things.

Officers say he left, even though they told him to stay.

Police say they could see a name on the phone, which led them to Hart's mother.

They say she told officers it was her son's phone, and she had not heard from him in weeks.

While talking with police, they say Hart called his mother on the phone.

Police spoke with him, and they say he agreed to meet with them.

Officers say he admitted to going to the house and "beating him unconscious."
