TRI-STATE (WFIE) -

The Tri-State came together to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey.

14 News teamed up with the Red Cross, Donut Bank, Old National Bank, and Townsquare Media for a Tri-State Cares telethon to raise funds for those affected by the devastation left behind.

The phones were ringing off the hooks as volunteers took calls, and the donation total kept rising.

In addition to accepting cash donations for the American Red Cross Telethon, Donut Bank sold iced cookies decorated with the state of Texas.

Several area businesses and organizations also presented checks, and at last count, the donations totaled more than $102,000.

Executive Director Theo Boots said that money would not have been possible if it weren't for the volunteers.

All proceeds from the cookies will be donated to the American Red Cross and their work towards Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.
