Pres. Trump's proposed budget could affect local organizations, school districts

OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE) -

President Donald Trump's proposed budget could mean major cuts for local organizations and school districts.

Owensboro Public School Superintendent Nick Brake sat down with Congressman Brett Guthrie and members of the state delegation in Washington D.C. to discuss potential implications for the administration's proposed budget.

Superintendent Brake says the loss in funding would mean the school may have to cut programs. He says he's worried about programs aimed at helping disadvantaged students.

This is currently just a proposed budget so no final decisions or cuts have been made.

Superintendent Brake says he was glad for the chance to sit down with those members in Washington D.C. to discuss the issue.
