Evansville at War to be shown on the big screen

History lovers can learn about life in Evansville during World War II on the big screen.

Evansville at War will be shown at Showplace Cinemas East on Thursday and Sunday.

The two-part WNIN production, in association with Court Street Productions, was created by University of Evansville professors Joe Atkinson and Dr. James MacLeod.

In the film, local historians and people who lived in Evansville in the early 1940s explain what life was like then. It explores the employment boom the war created and the effects that had on things like housing and transportation.

The documentary premieres on WNIN next Wednesday night at 8, which is the 75th anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack. Part two airs the following night at the same time.
