Windy Hollow Museum will open for the first time in 30 years

OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE) -

A special Daviess County Museum will open its doors to the public again for the first time in 30 years, but it is only going to be for one day.

Owner Evelyn Miller now takes care of the barn that once hosted the Windy Hollow Country Music Jamboree and of course the museum. Miller says it is time to sell some of the beloved items in the barn so she's opening the doors to the public. She says there will be plenty for people to buy, but her father's collection will not be for sale.

"Well, it will be nice to give this building some life again. It's been sitting here all sad looking, and I'm ready for it to have some life. It means so much to me and a lot of others in the community from growing up in the 70s. There was always something here going on," Miller says.

The barn doors will open October 29 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Miller says there may even be country music on that stage once again.
