OHIO CO., KY (WFIE) -

An Ohio County couple is accused of stealing money from a church.

According to Kentucky State Police, 42-year-old Lori A. Main and 53-year-old Clinton E. Main, both of Philpot, are facing various charges including theft.

State police say their investigation began September 2015 after allegations of missing funds were reported to KSP by a member of the Living Faith Baptist Church in Hartford, KY.

Lori Main was the treasurer of the church when the funds were reported missing. Troopers say it is believed she misappropriated funds totaling over $300,000 since 2011.

The investigation was presented to the Ohio County Grand Jury on October 5, which issued the indictment warrants for both Lori and Clinton Main. They were arrested on Monday.

The couple is being held in the Ohio County Detention Center on a $25,000 cash bond.
