Evansville police searching for suspect after foot chase

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

Evansville police are looking for a suspect who ran away from officers.

Police say the situation started  just before 1 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of Enlow. They say a suspect with a warrant and took off and ran to his mom's house in the 600 block of E. Iowa.

Authorities are currently searching the home.

Beth Sweeney is at the scene and she says a large perimeter has been set up near Fares and Iowa. We're told the SWAT team has also been called in.

Police have not said if this situation is related to the standoff on Maxwell Ave. that wrapped up shortly before the foot chase.
