JASPER, IN (WFIE) -

Indiana State Police say the suspect in a two-week-old theft case was arrested Tuesday after he tried to commit the same crime at the same place.

According to ISP, on September 28 a man, later identified as 38-year-old Virgil Ross, of Evansville, stole a generator from Rural King in Jasper.

Troopers say surveillance cameras captured Ross in the act and those images were shared on social media.

On Tuesday, a Rural King employee recognized Ross from the surveillance images as he was attempting to steal an identical generator.

The employee contacted the Jasper Police Department and Ross was taken into custody.

He's being held in the Dubois County Security Center.
