Warrick Co. church hoping to make difference lives of foster children

WARREN CO., IN (WFIE) -

Many foster kids carry their things from house to house in garbage bags.

Now one church in Warrick County wants to change that by giving them a bag and items of their own. The Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer opened a new campus in Newburgh and wanted to make a difference in their community.

Their goal is 80 new suitcases, right now there are 80 kids in the care of Warrick County Casa. The suitcases include a bag, blanket, pillowpet, and hygiene kit.

"My wife and I have a lot of friends that have foster kids and we were talking to them, and they said that a lot of times they will come to their homes with just trash bags and to have kids carry their things from home to home in trash bags just didn't seem right and it really bothered us," said Jeremy Seger, member of Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer.

The campaign runs until the end of the month. If you would like to donate, click this link.
