Body of missing teenager in Pigeon Creek found

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

Indiana Conservation officers are reporting the body of 16-year-old Maurice Blake Gray of Evansville was found at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.

On Saturday, a family reported losing sight of Gray near Pigeon Creek by north First Avenue.

The family of Maurice Blake Gray, 16-years-old, of Evansville, says he fell in the creek while he was fishing with another teen. 

According to the family, Gray was not a strong swimmer.

Sonar scanners marked a place of interest and an underwater camera confirmed the detected object was the body of Gray.

Evansville Fire Department Public Safety Divers retrieved the body. 

An autopsy will be conducted later to confirm the cause of death.
