Kentucky Wesleyan students wish Panthers luck in NCAA tournament

The Kentucky Wesleyan men's basketball team departed for the NCAA Division II tournament on Thursday.

When you enter the Woodward Health and Recreation Center, you get a sense of that history, tradition, 9 Final Four appearances, 13 conference championships, and 8 retired numbers.

Riding high on a 12-game winning streak, they're looking to add to the eight national championship banners lining the gym walls.

Winning 18 of their last 19, and winning a conference championship, coach Happy Osborne has a lot to be happy about.

For big man Marcus Fuggins, this is a new all new to him,

"I transferred from Morehead State, so this is my first big dance," he said. "It's a blessing, it's always great to see people come out and support us."

This is his senior year and his first NCAA tournament.

The fans may not travel with them on the bus, but many are expected to make the trip to Wisconsin to show their panther pride.

The Panthers are an eight seed this year. They open up tournament play on Saturday, when they try to pull off the upset against one seed Wisconsin Parkside.
