KWC women down Oakland City

The Lady Oaks fell to 8-11 on the year, losing against Kentucky Wesleyan College tonight, at home, 78-51.

Christiana Purvis led the Oaks in scoring tonight, shooting 4-12 from the field, including 4-8 from three point range, to notch 12 points, while blocking four shots. Raven Greer came off the bench to post nine counters, while Chelsea Jellison picked up four steals.

The Panthers were led by Jennifer Walker-Crawford, who came off the bench to put up 11 counters, while Katie Miller and Sydney Morabito added 10 each. Bria Wright and Jill Jones each grabbed a game high seven rebounds.

For the game, OCU shot 16-53 (30.2%) from the field, including 9-28 (32.1%) from beyond the arc, while making 10-11 (90.9%) from the foul line. KWC connected on 32-68 (47.1%) of their shots, despite making just 3-14 (21.4%) from three point range, while going 11-20 (55.0%) from the charity stripe.

The Oaks were outrebounded 47-29, including a deficit of 16-5 on the offensive boards. OCU handed out 11 assists, half the total of the visiting Panthers, while losing the turnover battle 23-15.

Next up for the Lady Oaks is a road matchup against the Pomeroys of St. Mary of the Woods College, on Wednesday, February 17, tipping off at 6:00 pm.
