Daniel Pitino Shelter collecting holiday gifts for homeless children

OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE) -

The Daniel Pitino Shelter is collecting Christmas gifts for kids living at the shelter.

Right now, there are more than 25 children staying there.

Each child has come up with a list - many with basic necessities like winter clothing.

Donated items will be wrapped and given to the kids on Christmas Day.

“Is Santa going to come to the homeless shelter to visit the kids?” asked Executive Director James Barnett.  “We are depended on the community to make this possible.”

Christmas lists can be picked up at the Daniel Pitino Shelter on Walnut Street in Owensboro.
