Hopkins family receives feedback on Gibson Co. park

GIBSON CO., IN (WFIE) -

The Hopkins family has deep roots in Gibson County, and they want to leave their mark.

Gwen and Richard Hopkins have generously donated forty-one acres of their farmland for a park near their home.

It's about 3 miles east of I-69 at the Princeton and Oakland City exit.

They're still in Phase 1, but they have a lot of ideas, and Monday night, they held a community meeting for input.

Gwen Hopkins tells us they received great feedback- she says people want walking trails, ponds and lakes.

Work could begin as early as spring.
