Owensboro man charged with animal cruelty

OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE) -

An Owensboro man is facing animal cruelty charges after animal control officers found several dangerously skinny dogs on his property.

Officers say they found five pit bulls in 38-year-old Carlos Hagan’s backyard on West Ninth Street. They say the dogs were very thin, had dirty water, and no shelter.

Animal control says another dog was found dead inside a building.

The dogs are being held at the Daviess County Animal Shelter.
