WHITE CO., IL (WFIE) - A new program is coming to Carmi, Illinois.
The city's Chamber of Commerce just bought materials needed to launch the Midland Institute's CEO, or Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities, Program.
It targets high school juniors and seniors.
Throughout the year, the students hear from dozens of speakers and visit local businesses.
They also get to create their own business that they showcase in an end-of-the-year trade show.
The program will kick off next fall.
It will be a co-op between Norris City-Omaha-Enfield and Carmi White County High School.
The White County CEO Board will begin putting applications in the schools by mid-December.
Businesses and individuals interested in investing in the program, either financially or with their time, should contact the Carmi Chamber of Commerce at (618) 382-7606 or any CEO Board member for further information.
