Three Ohio Co. deputies graduate from academy

OHIO CO., KY (WFIE) -

State troopers will no longer have to rotate calls with Ohio County deputies after midnight.

Sheriff Tracy Beatty says the sheriff’s office is now fully staffed after the graduation of three deputies from the Department of Criminal Justice Academy in Richmond, Kentucky.

The sheriff held a celebration at the Ohio County Courthouse Wednesday afternoon for Deputies Adam Vincent, Katie Pate, and Dalton Mellttot.

The deputies will now start an eight week job shadow with an Ohio County Sheriff’s Office field training officer.

“They've done an excellent job in the Academy,” said Sheriff Beatty.  “We're very proud of the guys that we hired and the girls.  We have one female that we are very proud to have.  The second one here in the history of the sheriff’s office.”

Sheriff Beatty says the deputies will be on the road by themselves early next year.
