ISP warns of spoofing scam

INDIANA (WFIE) -

Someone claiming to be a police officer is calling people and telling them if they will be arrested if don’t pay money owed to the IRS, according to Indiana State Police.

The phone number that comes up on caller ID is a state police number, but troopers say it’s a spoofing scam where the number is falsified.

Indiana State Police and the IRS will never call to demand immediate payment. Hang up if you receive a call like this.
