Study Suggests Cholesterol Drug Could Help Heart

Higher doses of a popular cholesterol lowering drug could mean a lower risk of heart problems.

A new study of ten thousand patients with heart disease found increasing the recommended doses of the drug Lipitor lowered the risk of heart attack or stroke by 22 percent.

Researchers found the higher dose helped lower the ldl or bad cholesterol levels beyond current guidelines.
