PRINCETON, IN (WFIE) - The courthouse square in Princeton will shine a little bit brighter this holiday season.
County commissioners will meet Thursday to determine how to set up Christmas lights in downtown Princeton.
Commissioner Alan Douglas formed a committee that will determine a safer way to install the lights after an issue with a ladder at the top of the courthouse last year.
"We have firefighters for the City of Princeton and Patoka Township, they have actually ran the lights in the past, and we're willing to allow them to do that again," said Brad Schmitt, Princeton Mayor-Elect.
"This year they're going to string the lights, one way or another," added C.K Montgomery, the Gibson County GOP Chairman.
The Christmas lights have been a tradition in downtown Princeton for decades.
