Daviess Co., KY clerk prepares for election

DAVIESS CO., KY (WFIE) - The Daviess County Clerk's Office is preparing for Tuesday's election.

Clerk David "Oz" Osborne says on Friday staff started dropping off voting machines and other equipment to 84 precincts.

The 110 mile route around the county took two days to finish.

Osborne says historically voter turn-out for state office has been low in Daviess County.

"It's not that we expect low turnout," Osborne told us.  "It's just historically low for some reason, voters haven't come out.  We wish there was 100 percent turnout every time."

Osborne hopes the race for governor will drive more voters to the polls.  Republican Matt Bevin and Democrat Jack Conway are vying for the spot.
