Speech Therapy

Speech therapy provides skilled treatment to individuals with speech and language disorders and/or swallowing difficulties.

A speech therapist works with individuals who have difficulty expressing their thoughts, or who struggle to understand what others communicate (either oral or written) to them.

Speech therapy may also focus on strengthening or treaching compensatory strategies for cognition / thinking / memory skills.

Another important area of Speech Therapy is in the treatment of swallowing disorders, such as coughing, wet / gurgly sounding voice, extended time chewing / swallowing, leaking of food / liquid from mouth, pocketing of food in mouth, weight loss or dehydration.
