HENDERSON, KY (WFIE) - Road crews in Henderson were out again on Thursday fixing a big pothole on Highway 41.
The pothole is in the southbound lanes of US 41. It's near the Long John Silvers restaurant at the entrance to the US 41/US 60 Cloverleaf at Henderson.
A combination of rain and traffic on Tuesday took a toll on the most recent patching effort.
Wednesday, highway maintenance crews repacked the pothole with asphalt and then filled it Thursday with high-strength fiber concrete.
Crews say they're optimistic the concrete will provide a temporary fix that will give some relief to drivers through the winter months.
Engineers will use the winter to come up with a more permanent fix which would likely involve digging out and completing a deeper base repair when weather improves in the spring.
